Brief description:
The 2 day Inca trail is great for people who don't have the time to hike the full length of the trail. You will still walk through a variety of flora and fauna and see beautiful scenery on the way to the Winay Wayna - Forever Young. The 2 day hike will cover a distance of 12km making it a perfect choice for families with children as it's not too challenging.
Itinerary
Day 1:
Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu
Early morning pick up from your hotel around 3.30am-4.30am by a private car, driving 2 hours to Ollantaytambo train station. We take the train through the scenic and Sacred Valley to KM 104.
Beginning our gentle trek here lasting around 4 hours until we reach the perfectly situated Inca complex of Winay Wayna.
After a lunch break we continue through sub-tropical flora and fauna for another 2 hours to the Sun Gate, here we catch a view of the Machu Picchu Citadel.
Taking the bus to Aguas Calientes town to spend a relaxing night in a hotel and meet for dinner.
20 minutes away there is a hot spring with a S/.20 entrance fee.

Day 2:
Machu Picchu - Cusco
Breakfast is served at 5.00am at your hotel then we get the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, taking 25 minutes.
Catching a glorious sunrise over the city. You will have a two and a half hour guided tour and free time to explore the mysterious city. If you still have energy you can also climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu at 2720m, this takes around one hour and a half to reach the top and costs $70 USD. Afterwards heading back to Aguas Calientes by bus, we meet for lunch and collect your train tickets for return to Cusco.
A private bus will be awaiting our return to transfer from Ollantaytambo/Poroy to your hotel in Cusco.

The Inca Trail is open all year round other than February, when it is closed for maintenance. It is advisable to book your space with us 6 months prior to your trekking date due to high demand. The availability does not depend directly on our trekking groups but for the number of permits left from the Government on the specific date. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
