Brief description:
Located in the Andes of Peru at 5200m above sea level sits the Rainbow Mountain. These mountains are partially formed of colourful sediments which give it a unique and vibrant look. It takes around 3 hours to walk to the summit of the mountain but it can also be reached by horseback. This is still a relatively new and unknown treasure as it was only discovered for tourism in 2015.
Itinerary
Day 1:
Cusco - Tipon - Pikillaqta - Andahuaylillas - Vinicunca
Pick up from your hotel around 6.00am, taking the 5 hour journey to the trailhead. Visiting 2 Archaeological sites during the drive as well as the Pikillaqta Pre Inca Culture, Andahuaylillas chapel, and the beautiful Chapel of Tipon.
Stopping while our chef prepares a hot breakfast, then moving on to another 2 more sites and also pay a visit to the Vinicunca community.
Our lunch will be served at the base of the Andes mountains, followed by a free afternoon to enjoy the beautiful Llamas and Alpacas and catch a sun set before dinner is served. There will be a perfect night sky full of constellations and shooting stars to camp underneath.

Day 2:
Rainbow Mountain - Cusco
Today we visit the magnificent Rainbow mountain. You will be woken around 5.00am with a Coca tea delivered to your tent and breakfast on the table. Starting with a 3 hour hike to the summit of the mountain. You will have free time to enjoy the wonderful view of the mountains and explore the nature around you. The hike down will take around 2 and a half hours and we will celebrate reaching the bottom with a well deserved lunch.
After we take the 3 hour drive back to Cusco City Centre, arriving around 6.00pm.
